Dr. Stephen G. Ray, Jr., Neal F. and Ila A. Fisher professor of systematic theology at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, was named president-elect of the Society for the Study of Black Religion at their 45th Annual Meeting held March 19-21 in Savannah, Georgia.

January 5, 2015 — Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary’s distinguished alum, Bishop Rueben P. Job, died on January 3, 2015 at the age of 86. A retired bishop of The United Methodist Church, Bishop Job was at the forefront in spiritual formation within the Church, serving as consultant in Christian spirituality, spiritual retreat leader and a spiritual guide.
